Garnish Music Production School

Complete Music Production Program

Many people ask which order to do our courses in for a complete music production program, but until yesterday, we had never had someone ask about nearly all of our courses before setting foot in the place, so it got me thinking while answering this enquiry about categorising our courses officially, and having and easy to follow path system. So, here it is for you to see in its infancy along with this email to the potential learner:

“Dear *****,

Thanks for your interest in our school and so many of our courses! A lot of people do many of our courses, but only after they have done one or two after realising how much they have learnt and how quickly they have progressed. They get the bug after getting a feel of the place and instructors, but no one has asked us about quite so many courses before setting foot in the place, so you threw me a bit! You don’t need to think so far ahead, best thing to do is one course at a time, we are never fully booked longer than a few weeks before the start date, so there’s another reason not to worry too much about our more advanced courses.

You need to figure out if you want to learn Logic, Ableton or both. If you know now it’s both, it doesn’t matter which order you learn them in, so maybe learn the one that appeals the most right now, and make a decision about the other DAW after. There’s no need to commit so much time or money to the other courses before you even start. Find your feet first!

However, I will answer the question for you. Other schools wouldn’t question you for a minute, take your money and sign you up for as much as they could get you to do as early as possible! Please take a look at the courses you expressed an interest in below:

1) Logic | Ableton

2) EMP | Mixing | Sound Engineering

3) ESD | Max

What you should do if you want to do all of them is work your way down, but you can’t go down a level until you completed all of the courses you wish to do on a level if that makes sense. For example, you can’t do ESD until EMP, Mixing and Sound Engineering are all completed. Are you sure you don’t want to do our Songwriting and CMP courses too? Just kidding!!

I hope that answers your question and more. Do let me know if you have any more questions before making a decision……”

If I included Songwriting and CMP, I’d pop them on level two below the DAW courses. Altogether, they’d look like this:

1) Logic | Ableton |Pro Tools

2) EMP | Mixing | Sound Engineering| CMP | Hit Songwriting

3) ESD | Max

So, if you know you want to do a complete music production program, you’d just take out what you know you don’t want to do, and complete levels one, two and three in order.
