Pete Gleadall has made records with George Michael, Madonna, Take That, Robbie Williams, David Bowie and many others. Logic is the centre of his work flow when collaborating with artists like U2 and producers like Trevor Horn. Pete is equally at home in the studio as he is on stage, and recently on the Pet Shop Boys “Pandemonium” tour, he was the musical director and was also nominated for a Grammy for his engineering work with them too. Pete’s dance music productions have been to number 1 in the Billboard dance charts many times, and he has collaborated with some of the business’ biggest names including Danny Tenaglia, Clive Henry (Peace Division – DC10) Smokin’ Jo and Tom Stephan (Superchumbo) to name but a few.
Aamir Yaqub is a London-based producer, GRAMMY® Award-winning engineer, and songwriter. He is managed by Metropolis Artist Management, and has worked extensively at Metropolis Studios where he collaborated with a number of respected GRAMMY® Award-winning artists, producers and engineers including Rihanna, David Guetta, Ne-Yo, Will.I.Am and Leona Lewis, as well as with major labels and corporations. Aamir‘s own sound bears heavy influence from his idols; Stevie Wonder, Prince, Michael Jackson, Marvin Gaye and contemporary visionaries Pharrell Williams, Timbaland, Dr. Dre, Salaam Remi, No ID & Kanye West. Aamir is also endorsed by Roland/Boss Instruments.
Chris Finke aka Bodyjack is a full time DJ, producer, remixer, broadcaster and label boss. Chris has been touring the world for the last 12 years and he has remixed over 30 artists including A Guy Called Gerald and Mark Broom, released music on a number of high profile labels and last year launched his “Bodyjack” alias. His first 3 EP’s under that name have been hammered on Radio 1 and Rinse FM, and he is recording for labels like Hypercolour, Unknown To The Unknown and Ultramajic to name a few. He has also taught for Ministry of Sound worldwide, and appeared on “The Gadget Show” teaching Orits Deely to DJ!
Alex Von Soos is a London-based songwriter and producer. He is a trained classical pianist and has spent many years analysing the theory behind hit songs. His own successes include a UK No. 1 Hit with the All Saints (Black Coffee) and cuts by Atomic Kitten and many other artists worldwide, sellling more than 5 million records in the process. Alex has worked with some of the most prolific hit writers in the business including Cathy Dennis (Britney Spears, Katy Perry) and Wayne Hector (JLS, Westlife). Currently, Alex is writing and producing albums for new artists Dan Akio and Cherry Greene. Ali Jamieson is a producer, remixer, record label owner, DJ and songwriter. Having released on Sup Peeps Records, Empire State, Mortar and Pestle, Neonized, Electronic Rumours, Los Grandes, Sunlinxx and La Valigetta. With just shy of 10 years in the music industry, he’s worked at leading studios including Strongroom and Bonafide, mastering suites (Red Light Post and Air Post) and sound design agencies (Sample Magic). He runs London indie outfit Heavy Disco Records and writes for Future Music Magazine. As an educator, he’s grade 8 LCM music theory and Tobin Music trained associate.
Larry Holcombe is an Apple certified Logic Pro instructor, engineer for MYNC and in-house mixing and mastering engineer for CR2 records. He has remix credits including top artists Roots Manuva, Coldplay and Kylie Minogue. He has also released records as DEF inc. (Botchit and Scarper), Rebel Sonix (Eight FX) and produced house tracks recently as Disco du Jour and Zelma, and his new solo project is Endemix. His DJing has taken him all over the world from Minsk to Mumbai including live shows at Glastonbury and the Glade festival. He has also produced theme tunes for BBC TV and produced commercials for companies such as Haribo sweets and Sky TV amongst others and regularly produces chart topping sample packs for Sample Magic.
Paul Waller has 25 years experience in the music industry as a programmer and record producer working with Spice Girls, All Saints, Eric Clapton, BB King, Massive Attack, Bjork, The Beloved, De La Soul, Naughty by Nature to name but a few. He was also a pioneer of UK House music and has worked with countless artists in a vast range of musical styles. Paul has 8 years under his belt teaching beginner, intermediate and advanced students music production, programming beats and music, mixing and mastering , recording, AV specialising in Logic Pro 9. He also lectures BA and MA level on London’s university circuit.
Al Riley started out as an assistant engineer for Coldcut, he worked his way up to In-House Engineer at The Dairy Studios. Since then he has recorded two albums for Tricky, mixed Jazzie B’s ‘Masterpiece’ and has gone on to gain impressive credits on Soul II Soul, The Cinematic Orchestra and Laura Marling, working in recording and mixing studios all over the world including London, Paris and Los Angeles. Al is an Ableton and Pro Tools expert and teaches studio recording techniques right through to mixing masters. Dom Beken started in-house at EMI’s The Townhouse, later composing and producing BAFTA Award nominated Playstation soundtracks. He’s also written and produced soundtracks for TV adverts including Carlsberg, Head and Shoulders and HSBC, SKY, BBC and Channel 4. Mr Beken is a member of seminal dance act The Orb, and co-wrote and produced last summer’s debut High Frequency Bandwidth album with Alex Paterson. Other credits include Jimmy Cauty (KLF), Rick Wright (Pink Floyd), Liberty X, Lulu, David Bowie, Echo and the Bunnymen, Placebo, Pete Wiley, Graham Park and Manson. Dom can also play drums and keyboards, hosts a radio show on Fnoob. At Universal, all he did was complain about stuff, but now thankfully he’s mellowed in his old age! Watch some videos HERE
Steve Powell is our Max/MSP and Digital Synthesiser Design expert and has been working on a wide range of projects from designing custom made synthesisers and FX to engineering sound and audio systems for pioneering technology such as three- dimensional visual projectors and interactive spaces. He also performs live electronic music using his own creations, often alongside other music software. With a BA in Creative Music Technology and an MSc in Digital Composition and Performance, Steve has expertise in many musical fields as well as creating rhythm based composition and performance software.
Steve can offer advice and knowledge in making a tool for any creative idea you may have by using Max/MSP, as well as composition, performance and sound design.
Dave Garnish was DJing on Don FM as DJ Flight at age sixteen while studying music at the BRIT School in London with the guitar being his first instrument. In 1995, he set up Blah Parties in a joiner’s factory on Pitfield Street performing as Alf Garnish, spawning what happened after in Shoreditch, London. His engineering career began at Air Lyndhurst Hall, and then the EMI group which then consisted of The Townhouse, Abbey Road, The Manor and Olympic Studios. Artists include Janet Jackson, Madonna, Bjork, All Saints and Massive Attack. Producers ranged from Andrew Lloyd Webber to Nellee Hooper. Until 2001 Dave beta-tested for Emagic Logic Audio before they sold to Apple, in the same year he signed a publishing deal with Universal Music UK.
